For some people, the fact that some ancient buildings of Armenia still standing is nothing but a minor luck or even miracle. This is because of the fact that the magnificent ancient cathedral, Zvartnots Cathedral collapsed in the 10th century and left nothing but ruins.

The ruins of Zvartnots were buried and remained buried until in the beginning of 20th century, the remains of the ruins were discovered. Between the years of 1901 to 1907, the site excavated and the archeologists were surprised with what they found underneath the ruins. The cathedral was not the only ruins found because it was built upon ruins of Catholicos place and winery those are part of the structures from the reign of Urartian king Rusa II. This of course gives another value points to the site and since then, Zvartnots claimed to be the valuable archeological site that is keeping the history of the ancient Armenia.

Visiting this place is easy and a lot of visitors who want to come to the holy city of Echmiadzin take a little time to stop in this site. The people who personally travel may hire taxi but there will be obstacle to this option as people will have language barrier and confusion between Zvartnots ruins, Zvartnots town and Zvartnots airport because all of them are called Zvartnots. The best option is by booking a tour that can be booked far before the trip days. The tour may cost $14 per person while the entrance fee to the ruins will be $2.
